映画"Soul"のサントラとGrammy3部門受賞の前作で、一躍、Popular Music Fieldでも名声を得たJon Batisteの2年ぶりの作品。66th Grammyでも6部門にノミネートされている。
Janelle Monaeの新作は汎アフリカを目指したものだったが、こちらはアリバムタイトルが示すように、より広い世界をカバーしようとする意気込みが感じられる。Jazz, Soul, Blues, Funkに軸足を置きつつ、Country、African, Raggae, K-PopやMichael Jacsonっぽい曲など様々。これらを、これもタイトルにあるようにRadio DJが繋ぐような構成としている。
Guest陣もNewJeans, Kenny Gなど、そんなアルバムのコンセプトに沿った人たちが呼ばれている。2023年9月に来日したときのライブにも行ったが、本当に多彩で芸達者でピュアな印象を受けた。また、個人的にはStevie WonderやK'naanあたりと近いものを感じたりもしている。
